This is as close as I get to a seasonal towel. Across the top of the towel it says, 30 Days of Gratitude. Each day has a prompt for you to think about: a book you cherish, a gift you value, a place that brings you peace, a memory that makes you smile, etc.

Lavender with Beehive Dish Towel
My kids gave me a beehive for Mother's Day a few years back. I joined a local bee club and started learning what I had to do to support the family of 10,000 bees that I was inviting to live with us in the garden. They need lots of flowering plants--for three seasons, if you can do it. They need a simple water source. That's about it. I open the hive only a few times a year just to check that everything is ok. But I watch them every day. There is so much excitement. My sister-in-law and I sketched this Lavender and Beehive in the height of summer, when the lavender was going crazy.

Succulents Dish Towel
3On a winter's day where I live, we can head to the local nursery to sit in the greenhouse and enjoy a cup of tea. There are lots of big and little pots of succulents there to cheer you up. I sketch them from time to time.
I keep playing with the color of the pots. Sometimes they are orange-brown, sometimes not. Let me know if this troubles you.

I spend a lot of time at farmers markets. One of my favorite things is when people sample fresh fruit and realize that it tastes SO MUCH BETTER fresh than from the grocery store, after it's been shipped from who knows where. Their faces light up. This is a painting I did of a top-down view of 9 pint containers, one of which has been sampled.

Quail Covey Dish Towel
I have a covey of quail who come through my yard each day. I know they eat my lettuce and tear up my garden a bit, but I don't care. I love how they wander in a group and run at an angle with that silly topknot leading. I've given them a bit more color than they really have, but I think they'd approve of my rendering.

Salmon Journal Dish Towel
This is a Coho Salmon, based on the journal entry of Meriwether Lewis from 1806. Maybe you've seen it. Lewis and Clark camped right by where my home is, and that knowledge fills me with awe. It is a sketch of the salmon (which he called the White Salmon Trout) and some of the text from that entry.
This is dye, hand screened and painted on certified organic cotton.
Colors are black, aqua, sea glass and orange.
I've already washed and dried it, so its ready for use in your home.

Mount Adams With Wildflowers Dish Towel
When I look out my north-facing windows, it's not Oregon I see, but Washington. Mt Adams lies just 60 miles away, and every day it looks different. Some days it's white with fresh fallen snow, but other days it glows purple because shadows cover it.
This design is a little unusual for me, because I didn't outline any part of it with black lines. This is a four-color towel: red, yellow, green, lavender. The wildflowers are: Penstemon, Gaillardia, Harebell, Columbine, Camus, and Delphinium. They grow wild along hiking trails.

Crows with Treasures Dish Towel
I live just outside of Portland, Oregon. In the winter, especially, tens of thousands of crows migrate there each evening to the parks and open spaces. Now, some people consider this a nuisance, since they will leave droppings on the cars and benches below the roosting trees. I read that they have employed a falcon to fly around the heavily populated areas to deter the crows.
But I like crows. It took me a while to get past the large size and the fact that they are not afraid of me. But they are smart. And we can learn a thing or two from them.
